Wildflower Prints
These are archival canvas 16 X 24 inch prints made from an original photograph documenting a native plant in its natural setting. The images are printed on heavyweight canvas and wrapped around a wooden stretcher frame, ready to hang. Color, contrast, and tonal balance are adjusted specifically for print to preserve detail and accuracy. The photograph was made as part of long-term field work focused on native plants and the habitats that support birds and other wildlife.
All images are donated by the photographer. One hundred percent of the proceeds from print sales support the work of Saving Birds Thru Habitat: restoring habitat, sharing practical knowledge, and helping people care for the places where they live.
Virginia Bluebells
One of the most beautiful species of spring ephemerals are Virginia bluebells (Mertensia virginica). These lovely plants are in the family Boraginaceae, which makes them relatives of other familiar species like Forget-me-not, Lungwort, and Comfrey. Bluebells enjoy rich yet well-drained soils where they can form large colonies over time. Growing fast, the flower shoots quickly give way to some of the most beautiful flowers east of the Mississippi. The flowers start off pink and gradually turn over to their famous shade of light blue as they mature.
